1. Turtles will be launched into the water at approximately 3:00pm on Saturday, May 1, 2010. The organizers will establish the splash course. If necessary, we reserve the right to modify the course as needed and/or discontinue, postpone or reschedule the event because of inclement weather, acts of God or other circumstances beyond our reasonable control.

2. All turtles entered will be provided by and remain the property of the organizers.

3. Once the turtles are launched, they are on their way. No attempt to free or interfere with any turtle is permitted, unless deemed necessary by the splash committee.

4. Each splashing turtle will be numbered and assigned to the adopting parent’s name as it appears on the adoption certificate. The first turtles to finish will be awarded prizes in the order of their finish. Qualified winning turtles will be selected until all prizes are gone. Positive identification will be required to claim any prize won.

5. Prizes will be awarded to the adoption certificate holder who is 18 years of age or older, or their parent or legal guardian.

6. Should a winning turtle be an orphan, it will be disqualified as a prize winner and the prize will be awarded to the next qualified winning turtle.

7. Prizes are non-transferable. Organizer reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to substitute prizes of comparable value. Prizes may be subject to certain restrictions.

8. The completed entry portion of the turtle adoption certificate must be completely filled out and received by the organizer’s splashing committee prior to the start of the splash to be eligible to win a prize. Entrants assume the risk of non-delivery.

9. Adoptions may be made in person at one of our local adoption centers, online on our web site at www.turtlesplash.org and on the day of the event IF not sold out in advance.

10. No purchase is necessary in order to win. However, the organizer encourages each adoptive parent to make a tax-deductible donation for each turtle adopted. Because adoption certificates not accompanied by a donation defeat the charitable fundraising purpose of this event, only one (1) turtle adoption not accompanied by a donation may be obtained by any one person or family or household.

11. There is no limit to the number of turtles that may be adopted. Turtle numbers will be assigned randomly, and a listing of adopted turtles may be requested by writing to the organizer.  Chances of winning depend on the total number of qualified adoptions.

12. Adoptive parents need not be present to win. Winners will be announced waterside on the day of the event, and notified by email or telephone. All prizes must be claimed within 30 days or forfeited.

13. Any and all taxes or similar fees are the sole responsibility of the prize winner. This event is subject to all federal, state and local laws and regulations and is void where prohibited by law.

14. By adopting a turtle, winners consent to the promotional use of their names and likenesses without additional compensation. All adoptive parents, by entering, release the organizer, its sponsors, supporters, and volunteers from any and all liability with respect to prizes.

15. All decisions and interpretations of the rules and regulations shall be made by the splash committee and its judgment will be final.
